Buns n’ Biscuits Season 2013 starts June 1 and runs through early fall.
Back by popular demand, Buns n’ Biscuits is here again! This spring & summer BrunchCritic is teaming up with top NYC trainers to host a women’s bootcamp. We’ll stay in our spandex and then head to brunch at a nearby restaurant. Buns n’ Biscuits (BnB) is designed for young, fun, professional women to meet new, like-minded individuals.
It’s sunny and warm outside in NYC, finally! And who wants to workout inside a stinky ole’ gym to get in summer shape? We will workout along the Hudson River and do our stretches and squats on the fresh cut grass.
Buns n’ Biscuits 2013 runs from June 1st to the second weekend in October. The Buns portion of Bn’B will alternate each weekend between outdoor bootcamps, boxing, self-defense classes, rooftop yoga, and a surprise excursion 60 minutes outside of Manhattan.

BrunchCritic will always provide value. We’ve got improvements to make with the site, but the original mission will never change: Be as useful as possible to our community, so they don’t have to waste their precious weekend time searching for a brunch spot. (And provide some entertainment too!)
So, I decided we launch a simple newsletter. Simple, straightforward, informative. I don’t like many of the e-newsletters I get. There is an overwhelming amount of content, and they are often times about unrelated topics.
That method is broken. I wanted a new formula. One and One is sent out frist thing in the morning on Saturdays, so when you wake up and think “I’m hungry, I want my brunch,” bam!, there are two suggestions. The brunch spots are opposites. Such as: One in Brooklyn + One in Manhattan, One uptown + one downtown. One party brunch + One mello brunch. You get the idea.

I like to encourage people to think beyond the mimosa. If you are entertaining this weekend in honor of Cinco de Mayo, I will encourage you to serve something special to help everyone get into the Mexican spirit. Mixing up a cocktail that looks and tastes like a drink you’d buy at a fancy bar is always a way to add a special touch to your party, and makes you look like a rockstar (even though it took less than a minute).
This Cinco de Mayo, make a Tequila Palermo. We show you how to do it in the video below. All you do is mix a few simple ingredients together (tequila, Cointreau, grapefruit juice and lime juice), top it off with Club Soda, and voila´! Your crowd pleasing cocktails are ready to go.
