Hearth

THE PLACE

Hearth has a homey yet modern interior, with exposed brick and wood tables. They've recently launched an Italian-inspired brunch menu, and have notable chef Marco Canora in charge of the kitchen.

What to Eat

The tomato and egg bruschetta captures the Italian flavors that Hearth does best, but we're also drooling over the sound of the brioche french toast with roasted pear, apple butter, and maple syrup. We're glad to know they are coming out of the gate strong and adding more to their french toast than other spots that keep it plain.

What to Drink

They've got four kinds of bloody Marys: the Classic, Roasted Jalapeno, Smoked Olive, and Fennel Anchovy. Maybe order all four?

The Smith

THE PLACE

The Smith is consistently all-around awesome. The atmosphere is chill but always buzzy and busy, with friendly and helpful service. We also love that they take reservations for as little as a party of two.

What to Eat

We are fans of the pancakes topped with apples, walnuts, and white rum caramel, (yes you read that correctly - white rum caramel), as well as the thinly sliced and semi-crispy potatoes that come with the omelette. Oysters are popular at the Lincoln Center location, where The Smith had to hired two new oyster shuckers to keep up with recent demand.

What to Drink

The Smith has all of the classic brunch cocktails, as well as a fabulous blood orange mimosa for an extra kick.
