Talde

Cafe Ronda (CLOSED)

THE PLACE

Cafe Ronda is a popular Latin Bistro with a vibrant scene and fantastic sidewalk seating -- good for weekend people watching. It is one block away from the 72nd Street transverse at Central Park, so that also means it's a quick walk to Strawberry Fields and Sheep Meadow too.

What to Eat

The Baked Eggs are our top recommendation, and you have seven variations to choose from. We love the Parmesan option. If you are in a more lunchie mood, Cafe Ronda has plenty of Latin-inspired tapas like crispy fried squid and Argentinian empanadas.

What to Drink

The red and white sangria, hands down, is some of the best in the Upper West. The Sparkling Lychee also screams drink me too.

Talde

THE PLACE

Talde sits on a big and bright corner in Park Slope, just a couple blocks away from Prospect Park. It has been buzzing with diners since Dale Talde of Top Chef opened the restaurant last year. Long wait? Try sitting at at the expansive wooden bar. It is just as comfy as a main dining table.

What to Eat

The menu at Talde isn't your typical American brunch. Talde serves up Filipino-inspired food and unique brunch creations like Shrimp Toast, Lobster Bao, and our favorite -- Breakfast Ramen with a buttered toast broth, honey-glazed bacon and an egg.

What to Drink

The bloody Mary is Asian-inspired too and topped with picked ginger. We also recommend the refreshing Watermelon Margarita; it has a nice balance between the sour citrus and sweet watermelon.
