Frankies 457

THE PLACE

If you live in Carroll Gardens, or Brooklyn for that matter, you've probably heard locals rave about Frankie's 457, deeming it one of the most solid spots around. Frankie's deserves every ounce of attention they get for their comfortable atmosphere and gorgeous backyard garden space. The backyard and stable can be rented out for events like weddings and showers, but are also available during weekend brunch service. You'll love sitting amongst the greenery with string lights dangling overhead.

What to Eat

The French Toast. It's one of the best French Toast dishes in the city. It's simply prepared and topped with maple syrup and butter, but they use a hearty bread that takes it to the next level. Grab a plate of thick cut bacon on the side.

What to Drink

Frankie's serves up Fresh Fruit Bellinis that can't be missed, as well as a mean Campari & Grapefruit. It is Italian, after all.

Critic's Pick

Upstairs @ The Kimberly Hotel

THE PLACE

Upstairs is a BrunchCritic favorite for its swanky style and fantastic views. You can sit in the patio, and in case of rain, the main section has a retractable roof and large glass windows. You'll experience an inside-but-feels-like-it's-outside vibe in that case. Upstairs is also near the MoMA, making it convenient for a pre or post museum fix. Sometimes Upstairs features international DJ's for some beats to accompany your meal.

What to Eat

Upstairs serves all the brunch classics from eggs benny to thick buttermilk waffles topped with fresh fruit and whipped cream. We like the decadent Truffled Duck Egg Toast, and of course the Lobster Roll to celebrate summer.

What to Drink

Sitting on this fancy rooftop with amazing city views goes hand in hand with drinking champagne. Really, how could you think of drinking anything else? (Unless it's the "Honey Breeze" of course, made with muddled honeydew melon and acai).
