The General Greene

THE PLACE

Locals adore The General Greene. But if you're not from the neighborhood, it's worth the subway ride too. Think about a trip to Fort Greene, and pairing it with a visit to the Brooklyn Flea, which is open through November 3rd.

What to Eat

Get the Cinnamon Sticky Bun for the table. (Side note: the vegan Morning Glory muffin is surprisingly good too.) Then have their famous French Toast, served with fresh berries, pecans and a generous helping of Vermont maple syrup. Make sure you snag the dish though-- only 48 servings are made each day.

What to Drink

General Greene serves a peach sangria made with fresh peaches, ginger, pineapple, and orange juice. Don't miss the Counter Culture coffee too-- the cappuccino pairs well with the pastries.
