Gallow Green

THE PLACE

When you arrive at the door of the McKittrick Hotel for Gallow Green's Brunch, you'll be greeted by a tall, striking (probably) male model who hates brunch, and checks your reservation to whisk you through the door. Then, you'll enter an elevator with a funny little attendant in a bowtie and vest, and exit on the 2nd floor. Finally you will ascend a staircase and open a door to a lush, green, rooftop garden straight out of a fairy tale. You must go here now as Gallow Green's Rooftop Brunch is only available for two more Sundays, the 6th and the 13th of October.

What to Eat

For $45, you have unlimited access to a spread of decadence, including gooey cinnamon rolls, créme fraiche scrambled eggs, warm biscuits with butter and jam, baked ham, veggies, and an amazing bread pudding topped with a bourbon caramel sauce. Chef Ricky King is very accessible and involved in the meal, keeping the spread fresh and warm.

What to Drink

The prix fixe also includes Unlimited Beverages-- bloody Marys, mimosas, fresh squeezed juices, coffee, and more. Plus, they will taste even better as you enjoy them while listening to live jazz. It completes your entire experience.

Home Made

THE PLACE

Home Made is a hidden gem in the almost-undiscovered Red Hook neighborhood of Brooklyn, but we promise it's worth the trek. The space has a small backyard garden where the Home Made team grows fresh herbs and veggies for their cuisine. It's simple and quaint, and feels like a little escape from the rest of NYC.

What to Eat

Home Made always serves up a great French toast. It's usually made with a citrus-dipped brioche bread, and sautéed apples, pears and dried cherries. We also love the Wild Mushroom & Fontina Scramble. It's a rich and hearty plate, served with buttery herbed potatoes provencal, and thick grilled walnut bread courtesy of Balthazar.

What to Drink

Cheers to the mimosa made with fresh squeezed grapefruit juice, as well as the French press of Kitten Coffee.
