The Gander
THE PLACE
Opening today for brunch, The Gander is New York's newest spot to join the brunch scene. This casual yet sophisticated American restaurant has a classy, fresh, and comfortable interior that will be a great option for Mother's Day. Eh hem-- that's next Sunday, May 11th, if you don't already have it on your calendar.
What to Eat
The Gander was started by chef and owner Jesse Schenker of Recette in the West Village. And if it's anything like Recette, the quality of food will be delicious. Get ready for Confit Duck Hash, with a Poached Duck Egg, Port Bearnaise Sauce (yum!), and Duck Chicharrones, as well as Maine Lobster Sliders with Shrimp Aioli, and Fried Shallots. If you enjoy more traditional brunchie™ foods, you'll love the German Pancake with Rhubarb Marmalade.
What to Drink
Opt for the Oyster Cocktail with house Bloody Mary mix, freshly grated horseradish, your choice of vodka/gin/tequila/mezcal, housemade pickle brine mist, and a micro herbs garnish, and served in a Nick & Nora glass.
Reservation Policy
Brunch reservations are accepted for parties of two or more.
